Dan Venberg grew up as a missionary kid, enjoying a cross-cultural upbringing in Chad, Cameroon, and Nigeria. After high school, he returned to his passport country of the United States, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Management and a master’s degree in international resource management with an emphasis in Agroforestry Science. After 8 years of working as a forest management consultant, Dan and his wife Rachel, sensed a calling to cross-cultural mission. In preparation for that, Dan obtained a Certificate of Theological Study in Missions from Lutheran Brethren Seminary. In 2002, Dan and Rachel were called by the Church of the Lutheran Brethren to serve in Chad, Africa, where they lived and ministered with their four children in Doh, a small Muslim community, for ten years. Dan currently serves as director of Lutheran Brethren International Mission (LBIM).
